About the event
"Ici Saïgon !" is an exhibition by Jo Ngô, a young Vietnamese artist who explores different art techniques by combining digital effects, sounds, performance and new media.
Inspired by a careful observation of daily life in Saïgon, the artist offers a unique perspective on the Vietnamese social context and life in the city, which are disrupted by the economic boom and urban development.
Inspired by a careful observation of daily life in Saïgon, the artist offers a unique perspective on the Vietnamese social context and life in the city, which are disrupted by the economic boom and urban development. Jo Ngô creates immersive, and sometimes interactive, dreamlike digital landscapes that aim to transcend everyday life. Through her works, she wishes to pay tribute to the lively streets of Saïgon, a city where everything is in motion and forces adaptation. Behind every detail of the artist’s compositions lies distorted, enhanced and archived objects that unveils a story reflecting the hope, the optimism, the resilience and the creativity of the people of Saïgon. For the Arts and Culture Days in Higher Education (JACES), the artist – in collaboration with students – will create an interactive mapping, which will be revealed on the ENAC campus on March 19th and presented on April 4th.
